Dr. James W. Kirkconnell

Dr. Kirkconnell is an optometrist in Nashville providing complete eye care services for the surrounding communities.

Dr. Kirkconnell graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1984. He did his internship at the Naval Regional Medical Center in New Orleans, and he did his undergraduate work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.

He treats most eye diseases such as eye infections, corneal abrasions, foreign body removal, red eyes, allergies, dry eyes, iritis, problems associated with contact lens wear, evaluation of diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. He teams up with several surgeons to give you optimum care when surgery is necessary, and provides pre-operative and post-operative care of cataract surgery and LASIK surgery patients.

While he enjoys helping patients see their best in eyeglasses or contact lenses, he is happy to discuss LASIK options with you, as he has counseled and followed hundreds of refractive surgery patients.

Haylie M.

Haylie, originally from Norfolk, VA joined our team in June. There Haylie attended college in Arlington, VA for recording engineering and music production, but quickly realized a love for working with animals as well. Haylie’s introduction to really being hands-on with animals was working at Busch Gardens Williamsburg as an animal care specialist with the Budweiser Clydesdales. After that Haylie wanted to continue working with animals after relocating to Maryland in 2015. Since then has worked at several hospitals in the area starting as a kennel assistant and working up to being a veterinary assistant through an eagerness to learn and hard work. Haylie’s passion for music is still very prominent in their life and when not at work, plays guitar and sings at open mics and showcases around the Baltimore area. Haylie lives in Mount Vernon with girlfriend, Sally, and their cat Tommen.
